The Bank of Mountain View is committed to ensure
that Internet Banking Online Banking is secure. Here are some of
the ways that we are working to protect your private information
and steps that you can take to protect your privacy.
Encryption is the process of scrambling private information
to prevent unauthorized access. We use the latest encoding
technology to ensure that your private information cannot
be intercepted by unauthorized users. When you request information
about your accounts on Internet Banking, the encrypted request is
sent to the Bank of Mountain View. We decode the message and
verify your user and account information. We then send the
requested information back to you in an encrypted format that
only you can read.
Do not send confidential information such as account numbers
or social security numbers through e-mail. The Bank of Mountain
View has no control over information sent via e-mail.
A firewall serves as an electronic buffer, or
guardian that stands between the Internet and the server,
or computer that manages Internet Banking Online Banking. The firewall
is programmed to allow only authorized users to have access.
Our host bank computer is not directly connected
to the Internet.
In order to access Internet Banking you must enter a series of unique
User ID and password number information. If your information is
entered incorrectly for three consecutive times you will automatically
be locked out of our system. We strongly recommend that you
choose a password that you can remember (without writing it down)
but that does not use information that can be easily guessed
by someone such as birthdays, childrens names, etc.
Do not reveal your User ID and password to anyone and we recommend
that you change your password frequently.
We recommend that you log off Internet Banking when you are finished
and that you do not leave your computer unattended while you
are logged on to Internet Banking. If you are logged on to Internet Banking
but do not perform any activity for 15 minutes, you will be
logged off automatically, and will have to log on again to
continue using Internet Banking.
In the event you suspect unauthorized access to your accounts,
or notice suspicious transactions in any of your accounts,
contact us immediately.
